It had been a long time since Kokatsu last ran into foreign humans, ones not of the tribe she was used to living alongside. They had screamed in fear and ran from the forest as soon as they had spotted her immense form. The kaiju wasn't sure if she should chase after them or simply stare after them. She had caused no ill will towards them, just looked at them, flared her fans in a threatening display and gave a roar. Kokatsu had just wanted to see them gone, as far away as possible from her and the lands she stalked.
The great beast had then ventured back to the village she moved through and around, gold eyes narrowed as she spotted the group oncemore, and though the villagers paid her no mind, the newcomers grew frightened again as the villagers laughed. The children climbed up her tail and sat on her back as she cleaned her paws. There was a great deal of conversation about the massive kaiju resting on the edge of their village, making their small huts look even smaller compared to her. One of the newcomers took a strange device that flashed and flashed it several times at her and the villagers, and eventually, the newcomers grew bold enough to come close and touch her.
Kokatsu wasn't used to this kind of attention nor entirely comfortable with it, but with the children on her back, she allowed the newcomers to touch her skin and get close to her. Eventually the attention grew too much and she snarled at them, which caused the villagers to push them away and out of their village, and the children never stopped sitting or playing on her back.
The days passed, and Kokatsu began to wonder about that event with the strange newcomers. What did that visit mean? What would it cause? Either way, it made her worry, so she stayed close to the village a little out of curiosity as to what may come next, and a little out of worry as to what might await them because of her. So for now, she rested alongside these humans, brought her kills back to eat and watch these humans, something in the back of her mind screaming that something or someone was coming. Something she needed to be alert and reasy for.

Not even a day after news of a new found Kaiju being found near a remote village in the amazon did it take the WWA to bustle into action. Branches buzzed here and there, gathering as much intel and garnering as much of the information as possible. It wouldn't do for those Monster-PETA folks to get a whiff before they could send guys down to investigate further. That wouldn't do at all. Which is why they had the AF send a team of scientists along with a protege of soldiers into the deepest territories of the South American amazon. Unfortunately for Lesya, she happened to be in the South American branch at the time and their psychics... well, they didn't have psychics. How they ran the poor girl ragged. Just last month she had been in Australia to help with a rogue psychic problem.
So for a good first few days of travel, Lesya was squished into a van next to around five other scientists all dressed appropriately for the occasion unlike herself. Where they wore sleeveless jerkins and shorts with thick, protecting army boots; Lesya wore her usual red dress that looked more appropriate in a ballroom than a jungle. But she had refused to change into something more comforting thanks to the fear of her tattoos showing. It was enough that the others gave her suspicious looks and audibly belittled her, she didn't to hear added whispers about her origins as well. So she sat there, slept in equally stifling pajamas that covered her arms and legs completely; sweating every single fluid known to man while protecting herself from the harms of jungle bugs. Excluded from most of the talks outside of weapon maintenance, Lesya found herself growing more and more anxious at the prospect of meeting a Kaiju. Unlike a vast majority of the world, the girl hadn't ever seen let alone met one of the power-houses of Earth. Safe to say, she was definitely going to be out of her element with this one.
But an order was an order no matter how much her self-thought matured mind might rebel. With all the traveling, it took them a few days to reach the exact spot; almost a week really. By then Lesya had faced most of her fellow scientists' coddling, most thinking her a simple child with telepathy; while the soldiers kept their wits about them around her. That was even more apparent when they had to leave the trucks behind, carrying most of the equipment by hand until they'd reached the village. Pleasantries were exchanged, albeit the villagers seemed to be more wary thanks to those newscasters from last week. Still the most charismatic of their group managed to convince them that they meant no harm and only wanted to know if the 'beast' would be a danger in the future. Of course that very idea unsettled the villagers but the group still managed to convince them by telling them that Lesya could 'speak' with it. ---------------------------------------------------------------- So they set up camp on the very edge of the village, tents erected and chests being brought by the soldiers as they went back and forth. Each scientist went to do their own thing: the botanist collecting 'habitat' samples, the chemist getting his flasks and whatnot ready. The final three were all animal scientists, each comparing notes and adding information as they went along. That left the silver haired child to wonder the village seeing as how there was no real need for a Physics scientist here. Just walking through the village she could feel their eyes on her. But her eyes wouldn't meet theirs', oh no; Lesya was more interested in taking in the sounds. Letting her red eyes wonder across the deeply tanned people and their huts before her ears caught the sound of children playing.
Curiosity had her follow, a near-invisible smile on her face as she round the corner of one hut to spy on the playing children. Only, it wasn't just children. Hiding in the shadow of the hut, Lesya spotted their target. A great black beast with six legs. It was almost feline-like with how it lay there, patient against the prodding hands and protruding laughter of the village kids. The child-psychic stared in awe, her little red eyes unblinking at the mass before her. How had they not realized it was there? How did they even miss it?! While not as big as the gargantuans, the kaiju was quite a ways larger than the humble huts it lay by. The children looked like baby bunnies before a lion. It was frightening but also... amusing. The girl crept out from the shadows, hand still on the hut in case she needed to run away. Her little heart pounding while her other hand grasped the delicate fabrics of her dress.
She should have waited for order, should have have gone back to tell the others, but it just wasn't possible. Before she knew it, Lesya had extended her invisible hand toward the creature, trying to touch its mind. Intelligence. That was the first she found. Feral power, grace - things she'd expect from a wild cat plus some. Swallowing down a lump in her throat, the girl proceeded to do the unthinkable.
"Hello."
A timid greeting, a child's soft voice. That is what she sent to the feline kaiju. More shy than afraid, more in awe than anything else. She didn't quite know what to say, only able to do a greeting and wait for a reply - if there was to be one.
@kokatsu Sorry for that long post. >.< You can just skip down to the dotted line if you'd like.

It seemed just like another day of lying alongside the village, the children using her as a giant plaything, when out of the corner of her eye, she spotted newcomers, far different than the ones before. The children left her side and she stalked off quietly, hiding in the depths of the jungle oncemore, circling the group and even though the villagers could look and tell she was watching from the darkness, they said nothing of her.
She spent the rest of the day hunting, then finally returning to her usual spot, the children running to scale her and slide down her tail or wrestle on her broad back. In her outstretched paw, one lay asleep, as small at the palm of a human's hand to her. It was the usual playday for the little ones, and although some of the villagers looked betwen her and the group on the other side, Kokatsu laid unphased, like a giant leopard simply resting in the sun and having no interest in killing the deer before it.
Then she looked up and spotted a red child hugging the side of one of the huts. The great kaiju snorted and spread her fans, a clear signal for the children to climb off of her and go back to their parents. The small voice in her head caused her to spread her fans out wide, slightly in surprise and in curiosity. So she stood up, towering over the huts as she took a few steps forward and then simply looked down at the girl.
"Now what sort of being are you? I've never had something to talk to before.."
The great kaiji started to lay down before her, to continue their conversation, until shouts and the sound of running men and women came her way. Immediately she was on the defensive, all flares raised, white gums and black teeth bared, body tense and ready for attack. The roar that left her maw echoed in the jungle, and the villagers made their way forward, trying to give signals that they were good, and it only seemed to agitate her more. Kokatsu was far from afraid, but all the yelling and shouting between the villagers and the others began to make her think the others meant harm to those she lived with. Her great paws stepped over the crowd of villagers as she advanced toward the threat, a promise of death on her maw if they didn't back down.
@lesya
sorry.. there was a miscommunication here..

The moment a reply came back through that mental line, Lesya couldn't help but grin a sunny smile. She probably looked so childish with how much her eyes lit up, not so different from the youngsters who'd been shooed away from the great kaiju's body. Lesya gripped the hut's earthen wall to keep herself steady as she watched the feline-like creature come toward her. The ground shook with every step, nearly distracting the girl from thinking of an answer to give the creature. She had just been about to reply once the black kaiju had settled but suddenly the creature flared up in defense, warnings running through the link like a fire alarm. It would be only a moment after would the child find out why.
Shouts and yelling, all in a language she didn't know as she recognized her fellow scientists running toward her with the four soldiers readying their guns as they ran. Oh no... Immediately Lesya ran toward them, not even opening her mouth but instead putting her hands up to signal for those fools to stop. She didn't dare break the link, fearing that a sudden seperation could cause a jolt in the other's mind. That in itself would only end in a disaster.
Two of the scientists seemed to understand almost immediately, one more so than the other. A woman, the botanist; held her arms out, holding back the soldiers and other scientists as they bickered. The man, one of the animal scientists; had pointed at the Kaiju, explaining something in his language but the soldiers didn't seem convinced. You could see the obvious looks of disapproval on their shadowed faces, each one holding his and her gun closer; fingers on the ready to tap that trigger. It didn't help that the creature was advancing toward them, hissing and spitting like an enraged feline with the features of a lizard. Its when that happened did the nine of them sudden back up, soldiers in front readying their weapons while the scientists in the back called for her while others were already thinking of booking it. What to do, what to do! Panicked, Lesya tried the first thing to pop into her mind. "Please wait! They mean no harm! They meant to find me! They didn't expect to see you so soon!" Her little voice echoed, her mind frantically trying to send pictures of them assisting her while adding a comparison of a fish before a shark. Something to help ease the creature into knowing that they weren't of any harm. Of course thirty percent of those picture were fabricated but Lesya had a wonderful imagination so it would be more than real enough. She only hoped the other knew of ocean fish.
But pictures and words wouldn't be enough would they? Gathering up her skirts, the girl ran toward the group; fetching a stick nearby. Hopefully her voice would stun the creature into waiting a few moments so she could chuck said stick at her fellows while her arms flailed for them to get back and/or go away. Unfortunately for her, the stick didn't get farther than a few feet in the opposite direction (how wonderful); but they seemed to agree with the getting away point. She was sure the soldiers would shoot and jeopardize the whole mission but they seemed experienced enough to point their weapons down when they followed the others back. Worst case scenario was that Lesya would have to blow up one of those guns, forcing one soldier to lose his or her's hand(s). So far that wasn't to be the case. Yet.
Fear still ran through her body like adrenaline as she tried to think how the kaiju would react. Would it, she the child had determined from the mental voice; turn on her? Would she try to devour her? Crush her? Or would she flee to the jungle and never appear before them again? Or would she continue to advance on the party and force their fear to surface more than it already had. She'd saw one of the scientist refuse so profusely to leave the child there that she actually had to be dragged away by two others. "Please forgive them. They were only worried about me since I didn't tell them I'd be here." Lesya had tried to convince the other, using a picture of a child sneaking away from his mother while she prepared a meal. A scene she'd remembered from a storybook from somewhere.
@kokatsu Ah yes, them misunderstandings. Hopefully Lesya didn't just get herself eaten. XD

Her high pitched, resounding roar seemed to startle them, and they pulled out strange weapons, which only agitated the great kaiju more. Her fans stood up in a display of dominance, even when she heard the small voice of the little girl in her head. She knew of sharks, she often ate them, but she knew that they fed on much smaller fish, and Kokatsu got the picture, still staring them down, slowly stepping back, but only once.
There was a dispute between them, arguing over her it seemed, she could see it and almost seem to hear in within the little child's mind. A few of her fans lay down, and she hid what little of her maw was exposed when she did bare her fangs. The front part remained shown to the world, drying her mouth out and therefore making her gums white. Now, the girl was trying to make them back away, throwing a stick at them, with horrible aim, but it seemed to get the point across.
When one of the humans without weapons tried to go for the red girl, her long leg stretched out and placed itself before the girl, a very clear symbol to the others. This girl was Kokatsu's now and the beings would be wise to walk away and not touch her. Her gaze returned down to the girl as she explained why they were so upset, and the great kaiju laughed at her description of a child sneaking away. Which of course laughter from a kaiju was a warm fuzzy feeling over the bond, and a strong snort at her which flattened all the lesser plants briefly.
"If they worry so much, then I will lay here within sight. Then we shall talk."So the kaiju simply laid down with her front facing the strange humans, her entire body curled in to pull herself away from harming any of the huts with her massive form. Kokatsu scooped the little red girl up with one paw, setting her within two so that she might stare down at her.
"What are you to be called? I am Kokatsu. I have been given other names by the humans, but I prefer that one."
One of the scientists stepped forward with some device, followed by a couple others, wary but daring enough to reach out. Those with weapons however, she snarled at, but kept her mind with the girl's. "They may touch me, but explain what they are doing.. They confuse me."The kaiju paused for a second, looking as they prodded her skin, and simply bewildered by their actions. "Are they trying to hurt me, because if they are.. They are doing a rather poor job of it.. I suppose it is the parents fault.. Awful, awful job.."

It was an effort to try and calm her tiny beating heart but she'd managed to panic less by the time the two parties had seemed to come to an... understanding. Though, she wasn't so sure of that until after the incident with the giant Kaiju shielding her off from her companions. There was an internal 'huh, what' moment; like a daze that made her body go numb. Touching the link's delicate strands, Lesya found some form of an answer. Possessiveness, combined with a warmth that had lingered since much earlier. The great feline creature had sent that wave a warmth to her much like laughter. It was... comforting. It even brought a blush to her cheeks. Of course that redness seemed to stay till long after the kaiju had 'taken possession' of her.
It was strange to say the least. Lesya couldn't lie about that. Finding herself being held by twin claws so gently, Lesya couldn't help but stare up at the creature. There was an audible chuckle at the kaiju's words, "I'm sure they would feel much better with that." She'd confirmed, gathering up her skirts so that she could make herself more comfortable on the black claw-paws. It was amazing how such a giant could lay in the middle of the village without so much as disturbing the residents or their huts. Then she'd repeated her earlier question.
"Its a pleasure Kokatsu. I'm Lesya, Lesya Ilyinishna. You can just call me Lesya though, much better." a wide smile returned to her face, "Your name doesn't sound like its from this region, have you been from elsewhere in this world?" A curiosity showed a map through their link, as to whether the creature, Kokatsu; knew how those worked would be a mystery of its own.
Through the entirety of the conversation, Lesya kept a cautious eye on her fellow travelers. She'd watched them grab their equipment, wondering how they'd take samples. Some more daring than others managed to grab some samples it seemed. Lesya took a moment to try and figure out the simplest explanation. "They're... trying to find out more about you. They can't speak with you like I can so they have to try other ways." There were very many good pictures she could think of other than a cat and a dog sniffing at each other. "They don't mean any harm but if they do hurt you please tell me. That way I can tell them to stop it. Or I can throw another stick at them." she ended lightly, her face flushing at her own joke about her miserable aim.

The kaiju allowed the little girl time to get situated within her paws, very much like a tiny red splotch on her black skin. The little girl's laughter at her statement made her join in for a moment, tail swirling around to curve between the villagers, and to allow the children to play on her oncemore and the elders to rest along the entirety of it as they all watched the newcomers and Kokatsu interact.
The villagers looked on at the newcomers with a mixture of distrust and humor. The kaiju never acted in such away around them, even in the beginning, and these memories the female kaiju shared with the little girl for a moment alongside her name, to explain why she and the villagers got along so well. They had respected her and though they had feared her, they didn't run. It was never wise to run from something that could hurt you, but made no intention to do so. All of this progressed with her walking by and through the village at times, then eating/sharing kills, and finally with becoming a jungle gym for the children. Then came her farthest reaches of her memories.
First it started here, with ancient civalizations and sacrifices to her, then flashes of different lands, pyramids and deserts, deep jungle and remote cold wilderness, a form of buildings that a human could recognize as oriental in nature, that she associated with her name. That was a central point for a moment, then ice and snow, traveling across great plains and hunting creatures that humans would recognize as buffalo, then here again. In the kaiju's mind she took the map and dipped it all in black to show she had been everywhere.
Then came the humans again. They do not hurt me, they just make me think they are trying, but if they are not all is well.. And worry not about sticks. I will eat them. she stated plainly to the girl, as if eating humans out of the blue was completely normal, which it was to the kaiju, but at the same time she associated a memory of a child spitting out bad fruit. Your kind do not taste good. You are very bitter in fact.
Now tell me why you are here. I knew the strange beings with flashing lights would bring something, but what do you want? What are your intentions? Then suddenly the kaiju's entire emotion became overbearing and dominant, demanding answers from the girl even if she had asked her. Fans were laid flat as she stared down at the girl in her paws, great yellow eyes intense as she watched the little one closely, air holes on the sides of her neck breathing calmly in and out as she watched and waited.
